Match report U11 Scorpions VS U11 Macclesfield Tiger. - 08/02/26
As we are in the 2nd half of our final non-competitive season, we decided to completely mix things up. Every player played in a position they were unfamiliar with. Now, it’s got the coaches questioning their whole set up. Fantastic game, every player played his part they were synchronised and it’s a special moment when they do what they are told and the result you expect happens (5 times). Lillis joined today and showed New Mills he’s still got the skills outfield. Well done

Match report New Mills Junior's U9's vs Whaley Bridge Red's U9's - 08/02/26
Season 3 - Episode 19: Whaley back-to-back! The under 9's were up against Whaley Red's again this week but with 3 of our attackers unavailable we would need everyone to step up. We tweaked the formation slightly after we struggled to find space in the previous game and the kids took to it brilliantly with an energetic start, plenty of brilliant goals and every single one of them working hard for eachother! 💛🖤 Special mention to Joseph who was our player of the match, taking

New Mills juniors match report - U8 vipers. 08/02/26
The rain just about held off for New Mills Under 8s as they took on Wythenshawe Panthers this week. With club Chairman Rick in attendance, the players were eager to show their appreciation for the countless hours of hard work he puts into the club, alongside the committee members and coaches who make it all possible. From the first whistle, the team displayed fantastic teamwork. Passes zipped around the pitch, tackles were brave, and every player gave 100% for one another. Th

Match Report NMJFC Saturday 31st Jan 26 - NMJFC v Spurley Hey Blues U7
It was a chilly Saturday morning on January 31st, but NMJFC brought the heat with a performance defined by pure grit and a tenacious "never-say-die" attitude. Lining up 6-a-side, the boys started with Charlie commanding the area in goal, protected by the hard-working unit of Henry, Ollie, Joseph, Angus, and Louie. From the first whistle, it was clear this would be a physical battle. Angus and Charlie (after his stint between the posts) were relentless in the final third, driv

Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs FC Bluestar U11 Zodiacs - 31/01/2026
Today our girls put in a strong all-round performance against FC Bluestar U11 Zodiacs, showing great teamwork, effort, and development across the pitch. In the first half, Poppy D started in goal and had a solid game, making her first-half saves when needed and distributing the ball well to her teammates. She didn’t have too much to do, but when called upon she played well. In front of her, Jessica and Annabella formed a determined defensive partnership. Jessica put herself a

Match report New Mills Junior's U9's vs Whaley Bridge Red's U9's - 01/02/26
Season 3 - Episode 18: Finn's on his way! As we flipped the page on the calender and said "white rabbits" 3 x times it was the start of a new month. We had a great January in the Stockport Metro, aside from them late Sunday afternoon kick offs, no sooner had you got home it was time for tea, bath and bed! We were blessed with the early(ish) kick off time off 13:30pm, it clashed with the United game but luckily for us the Dad's had their phones out... "How's United getting on?

Match report New Mills U11 Scorpions vs Whaley Bridge U11 Reds - 01/02/26
Great to play a different opponent this week, and a familiar one in Whaley Reds. Good to catch up with the coaches and discuss how the last few months have unfolded for each team. We had a full house, minus Alfie today, so we were down to one sub……. It was touch and go before kick off whether we had a full team as due to outside influences a few were running late. We kicked off with David standing strong between the goalposts, superb from the young man to adopt his second pos

Match Report NMJFC U13 girls vs Kingsway - 31/01/26
Another 9am kick off meant another early goal conceded (clearly the girls don’t do early games😂). Despite the bad start the girls put in a great performance against top of the league Kingsway First half was was generally all New Mills but we just couldn’t score. Emily, Esmee, & Brooke all came close and we thought it was one of those games. Last minute of the half and we get a free kick, from distance Brooke steps up and smashes it top corner. What a goal ! Match report Sat 24 Jan 2026 14:30 Richmond Rovers Genoa U7-v-New Mills Juniors U7, Venue: DIDSBURY HIGH SCHOOL
A bright, dry day for the late kick off at Didsbury High School. There was a chill in the air, but otherwise great conditions for football. The parents did a great job getting the kids to the venue on time, giving the coaches eight U7's: Alfred, Angus, Charlie, Henry, Joseph, Louie, Ollie & Seb. There was a good time to warm up, a team chat before the game, and the goalkeepers selected, Louie for the 1 st half & Charlie for the 2 nd , both very competent between the sticks.

Season 3 - Episode 17: Hat-trick Hero Haz! It was a bit of dejavu for our under 9's as we entered the 1st round of the Richard Gregg KO Cup... again! We'd already made it through to the semi final but as the other 3 teams dropped out of the league completely we were given a bye to the final! Match Report NMJFC U10 - 26/01/26
Today the U10s were up against Wythenshawe Pumas for an afternoon kick-off at Stockport Sports Village. We started with James in goal, Pavak and Rhys in defence, Teddy, Stanley and Jackson in midfield, and Alfie leading the line up front. Injuries meant we had no substitutes, which caused early problems. After no more than 10 minutes Teddy picked up a stitch and needed to drop back into defence, with Rhys stepping into midfield. Rhys did a great job creating play from the mid

The previous two fixtures had seen the Millers narrowly lose close contests. The girls were keen to get back to winning ways however a slow start meant they were 1-0 down in the first five minutes Slowly the girls settled and started to play the better football. Brooke came close with a few long range efforts and Emily was unlucky when the keeper made a some saves. On the wing Bella had a great first half and caused problems for the full back. When called upon the defence sto

Match Report NMJFC U13s - 18/01/26 Stockport Metro League U13s New Mills ----------- 4 Adswoods ---------- 7
The lads started fast, keeping the pressure on their opponents whilst playing same fast attacking football. It was Adswood who took the lead with a gifted goal when New Mills failed to clear their lines at the back. Adswoods lead didn't last too long as Max stayed calm to lob the keeper from the edge of the box after a fast break from the back line. New Mills could have added a second shortly after. New Mills half time team talk was easy, just keep doing what you are doing, a
