Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs FC Bluestar U11 Zodiacs 18/04/2026
There was a real sense of occasion ahead of the penultimate game of the season, with just one league fixture left before the summer break. Millie took her place in goal and delivered a strong, assured performance. She handled everything that came her way with confidence and, just as importantly, distributed the ball brilliantly. Her kicking was a real asset, repeatedly putting the team on the front foot and helping to turn defence into attack in an instant. At the back, Stev

Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs Altrincham FC Juniors U11 Girls Starling 11/04/2026
Today’s match, as we’re finding increasingly common now, was a strong all-round team performance, built on confidence growing steadily through the match. Paige started in goal looking a little nervous at first, she quickly settled and grew into the game with real composure. She pulled off some excellent saves at key moments and distributed the ball brilliantly, setting the tone for the team’s attacking play. Her willingness to play accurate passes out from the back, including

Match Report NMJFC U14s v Diversity U14s - 12/04/26
The Millers started this tense semi cup final well, creating several good attacks but lacking the cutting edge to score. Archie commanded the back line well and made several good saves to keep the visitors at bay, helped by strong defensive work from Alex, Alfie, Stan and Cole. The Millers’ clearest chance of the half fell to Bobby as Darragh crossed from the left, and Bobby looked certain to score, but the Diversity keeper made an outstanding save to keep it all square at th

Today’s match felt like it contained an entire year’s worth of seasons packed into one hour. One moment the pitch was bathed in sunshine, the next it was rattled by sharp, stinging hailstones, with a bitter cold settling over everything in between. Despite the chaos of the weather and the challenge of being down to just seven players, the girls showed real determination and spirit, rising to the occasion with a performance full of effort and teamwork. At the back, Marha stood

Match report U13 Girls vs Alderley United - 29/03/26
Strong winds, rain and hail made this a really difficult game to play in (and watch 😂). We were also missing a few players however the girls put in a great performance to record a good win. Kicking into the wind first half was tough and the girls went a goal down early on. However they responded well and were the better team as the half went on. Equaliser came from Emily who finished well one on one with the keeper. Shortly after we were ahead, more good work from Emily resu

MATCH REPORT NMJU10’s 21st March 2026
Today the U10s faced Hazel Grove Jets in their second match of the Vernon Trophy event. New Mills were missing James, Pavak and Stanley, but it was great to welcome Alfie back after a few weeks out. He selflessly stepped in as goalkeeper, with Charlie T and Rhys in defence, Teddy, Charlie J and Jackson in midfield, and Dylan leading the line. The Jets started quickly, and New Mills were unfortunate to fall behind within the opening minutes. However, once the boys settled, the

Match Report NMJFC U13s girls vs Stockport Dynamoes - 21/03/25
For the second week in a row the girls bagged ten goals and played some amazing football From start to finish the girls were fantastic and in reality could have scored more than they did. They’ve developed into really good team and everyone in the squad plays their part. Stand out individual performances this week were as follows; Bella - played really well in both defence and on the wing. Got an assist and unlucky not to score. Isla - built on her Player of the Match last we

Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs Richmond Rovers U11 Tigresses 14/03/2026
It was a silent week for the girls’ match this time around, with parents and supporters stepping back and letting the team problem-solve for themselves. The quiet touchline created a brilliant opportunity for the girls to communicate, make decisions, and rely on each other, and it was a real joy to watch their teamwork and determination unfold throughout the game. Paige started in goal and delivered a really strong performance. Whilst a little nervous at first, there was a qu

New Mills Juniors Under 8’s put on an impressive display today, seamlessly putting into practice the skills learned in this week's training session. The focus this week was on passing in pairs, and that tactical approach was evident throughout the match. The standout moment came when we scored the goal of the game. The build-up was textbook—three quick and decisive passes between players that sliced through the opposition's defence. Logan made a perfect delivery, and Elliott

The Millers made several changes for this game to both the team shape and the personnel used for the fixture. Stan covered for Archie in goal, with Bobby covering for Alfie. Daniel came in at centre-back to partner Bobby, and Greeny came in to partner Mayson up top. The Millers started the game well and were dominating midfield through India and Jess. Darragh and Bertie were a threat early on and put several good crosses into the box for Mayson and Greeny to attack. Cole and

Today’s game was one of the girls strongest performances of 2026, from beginning to the end the girls were confident, organised and eager to play good football. In goal, Ava had a really solid game. She looked confident throughout, dealing well with everything that came her way, and made a couple of very good saves to keep the opposition out when they threatened.
