Match Report NMJFC U12 Girls vs Mountfield Rovers U12 Panthers – Away 10/10/2026
What a performance from the girls today as they faced a strong opponent of Mountfield Rovers!
In goal, Millie was outstanding, making a number of important saves to keep us in the game. She looked confident and composed throughout, giving the girls real reassurance at the back.
Evie and Stevie worked tirelessly in defence, producing excellent blocks and well-timed tackles to frustrate the opposition.
Our wing-backs, Ava and Annabella, were equally impressive. Ava pushed forward brilliantly, showing great awareness of her position and supporting the attack well. Annabella seemed to be everywhere, filling gaps, making numerous tackles and delivering some beautiful long balls forward. Sadly however, after putting in a tremendous shift, she picked up an injury and had to be taken off before the final whistle.
In central midfield, Paige worked hard, pushing up the pitch and testing the opposition with some good shots on goal.
Today we also welcomed Hollie for her first game with the team. What a debut! She slotted in seamlessly, showing great confidence in central midfield, working hard defensively while also driving forward. You would never have guessed it was her first game – fantastic work, Hollie!
Out wide, Florence showed lovely footwork on the left and wasn't afraid to get stuck into the challenges.
Martha was absolutely everywhere on the right, covering ground, tracking back and supporting attacks.
Up front, Poppy put in a great shift, battling hard and giving the opposition's defenders plenty to think about.
Our opening goal was a brilliant example of team play! Annabella played a lovely ball forward to Martha, who then passed to Ava. Ava finished the move beautifully to get us on the scoresheet!
Great passing, movement and teamwork from the girls. And we weren't finished there! Just minutes before the final whistle Evie calmly took her chance for our second goal, showing great composure as she slotted the ball into the back of the net. A fantastic finish to cap off another brilliant team performance!
Overall, the girls put in a fantastic shift against a strong opponent, showing commitment, courage and some lovely football. From Millie's important saves to the defensive tackles, midfield battles and attacking play, every player contributed.
We're especially pleased with how seamlessly Hollie settled into the team.
A special congratulations to our Player of the Week, Martha. She was strong, determined and full of energy, seemingly everywhere at once. Often first to collect the ball from Millie, she drove forward confidently and worked tirelessly for the team. A thoroughly deserved award – well done, Martha!
