Team Goal V New Mills u12 Metro Cup first round.
On a day when the weather beat most fixtures, Team Goal hosted this fixture which allowed our team to get back in action after the horrific weather of the last few weeks.
The Millers started brightly and quick goals were scored by Freddie and Bertie for an early lead for the Millers.
The Millers continued their good start with Harry in goal who was distributing superbly to both Darragh and Bertie to attack their full backs at every opportunity.
Cole marshalled the back line with control with India and Lincoln formidable in the one on one duels.
Ryan and Mayson battled hard in midfield with Freddie working hard for the team to win back possession.
Further goals came with Darragh scoring 3 with the third an excellent header after Indi regained possession played to Mayson who quickly fed Bertie he then raced past the full back and crossed superbly for Darragh to meet the ball at the back post.
Ryan then scored two quick goals with smart finish and then a superb long range free kick.
Great play by Team Goal who then scored superbly from distance.
The second half saw Gregory come on in midfield and go close to scoring on several occasions.
Stan gave Freddie a break up top and forced several good saves from the team goal keeper. Lincoln took a rest as Daniel came on and supported the defence superbly.
More superb passing from Team Goal saw them score an excellent goal early in the second half.
Darragh then scored his fourth of the game another excellent goal after more great midfield play from Gregory and Mayson.
A solid team performance after weeks of not playing and into the hat for the next round of the cup.
