Match report NMJFC U9 Hawks v NMJFC U9 Falcons 15/01/23

NMJFC U9 Hawks v NMJFC U9 Falcons

Another derby day for The Hawks at Glossopdale this week, this time again, The Falcons.

We knew we would have to be on form in this fixture against a fantastic team who are really showing how good they are!

Liam and Shea had their hands full right from the off as The Falcons kept piling on the pressure - attack after attack.

Joe worked his socks off to drop in and help defend but the Falcons soon found the net early on.

Harley provided pace on the left wing but couldn’t catch a break and the same for Ella over on the right.

Bradley showed some excellent strength up front, holding the ball up really well and looking for the passes but it just wasn’t happening for The Hawks today.

Kian made some fantastic saves in the first half to keep the goal tally down - likewise for James in the second half.

We found the net in the second half with Kian bursting on to a shot saved by Falcons keeper Oscar who kept out the strike from Harley but couldn’t keep hold of it leaving Kian to smash it home.

A fantastic goal from inside his own half came courtesy of our captain Liam and also helped him earn the man of the match trophy this week 🏆

Its always a pleasure playing against the other New Mills teams and I’d just like to congratulate The Falcons on their performance today. Absolutely incredible. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
