Match report New Mills Scorpions vs Hillgate U11 - 11/01/2026
A repeat of the last fixture before the festive break saw us up against Hillgate. We’ve really enjoyed playing this team previously and knew we would be in for a great game. Straight away Frankie C was called into action and made a fantastic point blank save to deny the Hillgate attacker. Throughout the first half there was some great passing and fantastic work from Will playing out on the right wing. Rocco T saw a shot saved, quickly followed up another great save from Oli
Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs West Didsbury and Chorlton AFC U11s Nightha 17/01/2026
Today we saw Florence return to the team for the first time in a while and it was genuinely great to see her back. Sporting our new keeper gloves, kindly provided by the club, she looked confident and composed from the start. She used her hands well throughout the match and pulled off a couple of excellent saves, setting a calm and assured tone for the team from the back. The defence worked hard and showed real energy. On the left, Poppy J was tireless, covering huge areas of
Match report NMJFC U11 Hornets V Rose Hill Rovers - 10/1/26
First game back for The Hornets since 13th December! Time to blow off the cobwebs, run off those Xmas chocolates and get back to loving football on Saturdays! Special mention to The Butterworths, who hosted the annual Hornets Christmas Party 🧑🎄 It was a great day & night as the kids had a team-bonding session and the parents got blind-drunk as usual. We all recharged our batteries after that and now we are ready to go again. We also found out who we'd play in the next roun

Ollersett building to make a difference.
Our new building at Ollersett is going to make a massive difference to our town – but don’t just take our word for it! Here’s what you’ve had to say about the project: “I'm really hoping the development goes ahead. I feel it's vital for the teams to have somewhere to use the toilet. Especially with the club having several girls' teams which are only getting better and will most likely increase over the coming years.” “It is a very good idea and would provide much needed

Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs Bollington United U11 Capybaras 10/01/2026
With numbers stretched to the limit, today’s match went ahead with just five players available, our girls already facing a tough challenge before a ball was even kicked. Poppy started in goal and, despite clearly not feeling 100%, produced a superb one-handed save and another strong stop early on. Sadly, illness forced her off after just ten minutes, but her commitment to turn up and give everything set the tone for the rest of the team. At the back, Annabella on the right an

Match Report NMJFC U10s - 10/01/26
The U10’s kicked off 2026 with their first game of the year against Didsbury Phoenix Maroons on a very frosty afternoon at Stockport Sports Village. The boys were without Charlie J, who unfortunately broke his toe over the Christmas break, and will be out for a few more weeks but he still made the effort to come down and cheer on his teammates from the sidelines. The U10’s started brightly, but after no more than 10 minutes Dylan was forced off through injury. The luck wasn’t

Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs Richmond Rovers Girls U11s Tigresses 03/01/26
Fresh from the Christmas break and stepping into their first game of 2026, our girls returned to action on a cold but beautiful day that felt perfect for football. Despite the chill, there was plenty of energy and enthusiasm as play resumed, and the team looked eager to get back on the pitch. Millie started in goal and her presence immediately gave confidence to the whole team. The girls were clearly pleased to see her between the posts, and she repaid that trust with a serie

Match Report NMJFC U14s girls - Saturday 13th December
I’ll keep this one short! A big game with bare 11, away to unbeaten, top of the league Marple. What a game, what a whole team performance. What a defensive dream team! They grafted and left everything out on the field. Managed to keep Marple pretty much out of the danger zone and toughed it out with plenty of worked for opportunities. Excellent communicating throughout with shouts of mark-up, press & cover, I’ve got you! And they certainly did have each other throughout! The

Match Report - Sat 13 Dec 2025 13:40 UK Sports Oranges U7-v-New Mills Juniors U7, Venue: DIDSBURY HIGH SCHOOL
The penultimate game of the calendar year, before the Christmas break, and a venue & time change for this fixture. Didsbury High School was the venue, and a later kick-off time of 1.40 against UK Sports Oranges U7. Considering the greater distance, a sterling effort from the parents ensured New Mills had a full team ready to go well before kick-off. No Angus, Caleb, Charlie or Louie, so just six U7's for this fixture. Henry & Tobias were volunteer goalkeepers, and the opposi

Match report Middleton u14 v New Mills U14s - Presidents cup quarter final - 14/12/25
The Millers started the quarter-final brightly and took an early lead after Greg won a penalty following a clumsy challenge in the box. Bobby despatched the penalty superbly. The Millers were winning all the early battles and defending strongly, with Mayson and Fletcher doing a great job for the team in the full-back roles. Alfie and Stan marshalled the centre-back positions with confidence and assured play. Bobby and Jess worked hard as a two, and Gregory linked the play for

Threat of rain… which came down for most of the game. Another game against Futtymania … the scorpions started brightly. The words from coach Jordan (who wasn’t there today) were enjoy yourselves, play with a smile . We started brightly… pushing the opposition back…., a great through ball from Frankie H saw Rocco T steam though and score a peach of a left foot goal ⚽️ (left foot Roc 👊🏻) Frankie C had to be on his toes more than once and made some great saves. This weekend started with the sun shining and a frost in the air and our 7 girls all showed up rearing to go to play today’s opponents Richmond Rovers. We got off to a strong start with Nora in goal standing firm between the post and coming out to collect the ball with confidence. Nora’s ball distribution was on point and got the team on the front foot right from the back. The back line was made up of Elle on the left, Emily on the right and Nina down the middle. All three s

As the winter weeks are kicking the team is looking very different, a real hybrid of two very good teams. A big Sunday morning as the lads face off with the biggest opposition they have ever come up against….their own mentality. We asked for fire, passion and full on commitment and that’s what we got. Callum up against a winger he knows can out run him. But we saw those high knees today and were very proud of the effort put in to chase that ball down. Will pushing himself
