NMJFC U12's V Bollington Utd Dragons - 17/10/26
Back to winning ways for our U12's who have struggled in games this season to really assert their dominance and finish teams off. I can not doubt the effort coming from the lads but we just seem to be struggling in the last third to create the magic that unlocks the oppositions defence.
We were up against a strong Bollington side and the boys needed to apply themselves physically and they were up for the challenge.
Big tackles going in from both teams but our Mini-Millers seemed to benefit more when we were awarded free-kicks in dangerous areas.
Ronan was the first to capitalise when Albie was fouled. Albie was a menace to the Bollington defence and they were struggling to cope with him. Our Rocket lived up to his nickname and converted the free-kick with a trademark strike 🚀
The Half-Time chat was more about belief and taking control so when Bollington equalised we knew the boys would need to dig deep. Oliver B was like a man possessed and was winning every ball back and refusing to allow Bollington to take the lead. Backed up by Finners, who took an early knock but battled on, the defence were irritating the oppositions attackers. When they did break through, Oliver L was there to save the team..... Again!
With two minutes to go, Bollington conceded another free-kick through pure frustration and it was Albie again who was fouled...... Our Maestro was on top form. Up steps Captain Frankie to secure victory with a clinical strike that went over the wall and off the inside of the post to win the the game✌️
Absolute scenes followed the winning goal and the boys had proven they can get over the line when the going gets tough 👏
PotM went to Oliver B🏆 who once again showed work rate beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. Outstanding resilience and this lad never fails to amaze me with his passion to win.
Let's kick-on now boys and show this league what we are capable of 💪
