This Saturday the U9’s were back at Stockport Sports Village to take on Richmond Rovers Skys for a very wet 9:50 kick off.
James had picked up an injury mid week so Teddy took a turn in goal for the first half.
The boys started well, building our passes from Rhys and. Charlie T at the back, and through Jackson, James and Stanley in midfield who played some nice balls through to Charlie J.
It was Stanley who claimed our first goal crossing in a lovely corner which they couldn’t keep out. Stanley followed this up minutes later with a superb ball in from the left which went in of the back post leaving the keeper and the opposition defence no chance.
We had a small change around getting Dylan on as striker and Pavac into defence. Both players had an impact with Dylan keeping the pressure on and pressing high. Pavac seemed to be on the end of every RR attack, getting the ball out to safety.
Rhys moved up into midfield to relieve James and managed to get 2 awesome goals from outside of the box.
Dylan took the goal keeper shift for the 2nd half with James, Charlie T and Pavac rotating to keep fresh legs at the back.
Teddy took up the striker position, bagging a nicely placed goal from a 1 on 1, and then moved to the Right wing briefly getting the net again after a nice dribble down the line.
Jackson repeated this again moments later from the right with Stanley following the same route moments after that.
Dylan pulled off some great stops at the other end and there was just enough time for Stanley to add one more before the final whistle.
The boys worked relentlessly at both ends of the pitch ensuring that they did everything they could do and supported one another as a team today, definitely there best team performance with the biggest smiles all around.
Player of the match was split between Stanley, Rhys and Pavac today which were all awesome.
