Match report NMJFC Under 11s - 15/04/23
It was a bright and sunny day for todays friendly match as the NMJFC Under 11s faced Wythenshawe Celtic.
Having not played this team before, we set up the team with a balanced line up for the first half.
Ever dependable Cole in the nets had his work cut out in the first half and with the sun in his face, he gave his usual fearless performance.
Darragh started at centre back with India to his right and Dan W to his left. This trio did well against a fast paced Wythenshawe who at times competed really hard.
Centre midfield comprised of captain Bobby, alongside Freddie. They both played with control and passion to drive forward. With support from Bertie on the left and Mayson on the right, we knew we had the strength to compete.
Bertie scored a classic team goal in which a very well played period of play led to a goal.
Harry played centre forward today against a very skillful and dominant defence.
Half time came and we decided to switch the tactics around and go with a more offensive play.
We moved Mayson to centre back, Darragh to centre mid, Freddie to the right wing, Bertie to the left wing, Dan W to striker and we brought our fresh legged substitute, Alex L to left back. We were able to dominate our attacking football with a fantastic response.
Another great team goal from Bertie, followed shortly by a corner from Bobby which found Darragh’s head for a great “in off the post goal”.
Dan W also got his name on the goal sheet with a cheeky flick round the keeper.
Wythenshawe gave us a real challenge today which was a credit to them. 👏🏻
POTM went to Mayson for his non stop play in the game which was great to see. Well done Mayson. 🏆
