Chinley u12s v New Mills u12s
First game of the year for the Millers, local derby away at Chinley and the boys got off to a great start in 2022.
The surface wasn’t the best with the current weather situation but at least we got to play.
The game kicked off and the Millers seemed to settle quite quickly with some nice passing and movement with plenty of work off the ball as well. Defence pushed out when we had control of the ball as well as keeping together with their line. Wasn’t long before the Millers broke the dead-lock, and continued to play and score a 2nd soon after to put them in a comfortable position half way through the first half. Chinley didn’t give in and got a goal themselves, then against the run of play the Millers stopped when they thought the Chinley striker was offside, only for him to be onside and slot the ball home to make it 2-2.
2nd half kicked off and Chinley seemed to be working harder creating a few chances. The Millers came to life again and started causing problems for the home side, scoring again to go ahead 3-2.
Then another quick fire goal put the boys 2 ahead but Chinley still caused a few problems and still hadn’t give up and created more chances.
The Millers playing good football again killed the game off with a great effort that was too powerful for the keeper to keep out securing the win for the Millers.
Great team performance on a grim morning, all the lads dug in and got 3 points which was thoroughly deserved.
