Match report NMJFC Under 12s girls - 01/10/22

Duckinfield Vs NMJFC u12 Girls

New venue and playing on what looked like a very big pitch but nice to be back on grass for Play Safe weekend.

A difficult, evenly matched game with plenty of end to end action.  Very physical game, the Mini Millers having to tough it out.

Duckinfield taking advantage of the sun in our keeper, Freya B’s eyes seemed to dent the demeaner of the New Mills side, who then sat back a little and let their heads drop.

Soon to be recovered drawing close to half time by Freya L. Ellie eager to come off the bench and make a difference used her skills & agility to nip round players and grab her first goal for the team, well worked for.

Our captain for today, Nieve, who again, dropped into a defensive position, travelled down the wing with Jaz ahead giving her options throughout the whole first half and showing her ability to cross the ball into waiting feet, great partnership and did exactly what was asked of you both.

Going into half time with the opposition evening up the score led for some tough team talks.

Some good ownership and accountability in the team chat and respecting it’s their game we went out second half to try things differently. Plenty of chances for us in the second half but just couldn’t quite get through a good Duckinfield defence.  Better pace and determination from us led to Freya B’s beautiful top bins goal from far out wide.  Again, Duckinfield bringing the score level for what could be said was a fair result. Lots to take out of this game and into our training session next week.

Player of the match today for your tireless hard work, perseverance, nippy skills and great captain’s communication is Nieve, well done!
