Richmond 0 vs 3 New Mills

After failing to beat Chinley last week in a local derby, the under 13s were looking to bounce back against a well organised Richmond team. It wasn’t long until the away team broke the deadlock, with the hard working Will & Declan in midfield winning the ball back, feeding Max on the left wing who then fired the ball across the face of the goal for Ruben to tap in the opener. The Millers second goal came from the penalty spot, having had a penalty saved in the previous game the responsibility fell to the feet of Max who smashed the ball home. The home side dominated the game just after the break, forcing the New Mills keeper Logan to pull off several important saves. He also had Alex, Nate, Luke, Gene & Alfie to thank for their solid defensive work throughout the game.

The New Mills forwards Matheus, Harvey and Luca began to see the ball more as the half went on and it wasn’t long until Tom found himself in a great position to coolly tap in the Millers third.

The under 13s showed a great team ethic and played some really good football on such a narrow pitch and should be all proud for a great team performance.

New Mills will return the favour and welcome Richmond Rovers to the Rec on Thursday evening 6:30 Kick off (13-05-21) for the next round of the cup.

We only do POSITIVE!! THANK YOU 🙏🏻 for your support as always 👍🏻
