The Millers traveled to Bollington for an early kick-off against Bollington Jaguars. Aiming to keep up their impressive performances which have clearly taken the eye of the spectators of late.
Naming an unchanged team the Millers got the game underway. Cool and calm in possession New Mills controlled the game in the early stages. And it wasn’t long until the Millers got there just reward.
Just inside the first 10 minutes of the game, Max whipped in a delicious corner for Declan to rise above everybody else in the area and put New Mills in front from a thunderous header.
Provider of the first, added the second goal of the game. Harvey unselfishly squared the ball to Max, who beat his man and smashed the ball into the roof of the net to make it 0-2.
Just before the interval substitute Devah made an immediate impact. Winning the ball around the edge of the Bollington area, he decided to unleash a powerful shot on goal which found its way to the back of the net through the goalkeepers legs. 0-3 to New Mills in a very dominating first half display.
Ruben, who ran his socks off the entire game added the Millers fourth. After a quick throwing was taken from the left hand side Ruben dance his way into the box, he cut inside and hit a beautiful side footed shot which hit the back post for a fantastic “post and in” !
Bollington help themselves to a consolation goal during the game, which was disappointing for goalkeeper Logan who deserved a clean sheet due to his heroics in between the sticks throughout the campaign.
Tom, Will and Declan controlled the game from start to finish in the heart of this well oiled machine. Well organised and fearless at the back was Logan, Gene, Luke Nate and Joe who were all vocal and encouraging throughout the match. Ruben and Matheus ran up and down all game, offering width and creativity. A special mention for there burning desire to win the ball back high up the pitch too…which didn’t go unnoticed 👌🏻. Forwards Max, Harvey, Devah and Luca worked tirelessly as a unit and are forming a great understanding with one another.
A FANTASTIC team display! These lads are now showing a great level of maturity, togetherness and positivity 👏🏻
