The Eagles were ready for their derby game this morning against NMJU8 Hawks at Glossopdale.
Despite being a player down, the Eagles were determined to show the progress they have been making since the start of the season - and they didn’t disappoint! As soon as the game started, the Eagles pressed the opposition and used their pace to exploit the spaces down both wings. With Zac being an absolute rock in defence and playing some fantastic passes forward, the quick attacks were rewarded with an amazing first half hat-trick from Archie ⚽️⚽️⚽️
As the Eagles re-grouped at half-time, the key thing was to build on their first half performance and really concentrate in the second half knowing the opposition had the quality to punish you. A much more even second half saw both goalkeepers produce some outstanding saves, with the Hawks gradually starting to take hold of the game and create more chances.
As the final whistle went, the Eagles came off the pitch proud of their performance and happy with the teamwork they showed throughout the whole game.
Special mention to today’s captain Oliver who had a tough task today in midfield, but ran tirelessly for his team helping out in attack and defence and putting in some excellent tackles to break up the opposition play.
Well done Eagles - you were all fantastic today. Roll on next week!
