NMJFC U8 Hawks v Chinley Greens
It was a chilly morning at Glossopdale this week but the performance from the Hawks gave our spectators plenty to jump around about.
With a couple of players out due to illness, the team knew they all had to put in some extra work today against a team we know so well.
The first half was a close affair, with lots of battles in the middle of the pitch. The Millers had to work hard to apply pressure and close down the ball quickly to keep Chinley from opening up their attacks. Kian was looking to build on his great last couple of games where he grabbed his first goal for the club but Chinley were throwing everything in to their defence and some big saves from their keeper kept him out. Solid and composed at the back, Liam did a fantastic job of protecting our goalkeeper Harley who had a fairly quiet 1st half.
A couple of changes at the break saw Harley move onto the right and Leo come on to play on the left to bolster New Mills’ attacking force. Joe took the number 1 jersey in between the sticks. Powerhouse Shea dominated the middle of the pitch to keep us in possession and drive forward to get our chances at goal. Liam again doing brilliantly to be the brick wall that he is at the back, slotted through some fantastic balls which Leo took and fired home some wonderful finishes.
A comfortable second half saw goals fly in the back of the net courtesy of:
