Match Report NMJFC V Buxton Young Bucks Whites - 4/2/24

Wet & Windy morning against the team we played in our first ever fixture in the High Peak JFL. Our boys have improved so much since then and we started the game with a real intent to control the match and Buxton were on the back foot.

Aiden was in goal and made another remarkable save with his feet to keep The Mini-Millers from conceding. Max was playing at the back but once again found space to creep forward and was setting up the attacks. Teddy, Myles & Finn were linking up and passing to each other and you could tell the goals were coming. They did!

The introduction of Ned in goal was to secure the lead. In training, Ned was brilliant in goal and Reuben & Ryan made a real impact on the game as New Mills were dominating. The strength in depth was once again showing as Finley⚽️ & Myles⚽️ had both taken their chances and the boys had their noses in front at half-time.

Second half, Teddy offered to take the gloves and this is something we would like all the boys to volunteer more for. Ironically, the one individual that helps out in goal most, is Reuben . . . . and the parents on the side-line were almost cheering the ball into the net as he tried to get on the score-sheet. It’s coming Reuben!

Aiden managed another spell in goal and Finley⚽️ had to keep his composure and scored again. This very young group play their best when they are backing eachother and we need to make sure we play as a team. Everyone is improving and this is the key to our success.

Player of the Match went to Teddy🏆

When nobody wanted to go in goal for the second-half, he put his hand up and said he’d do it for the team! He was brilliant.

Some great games ahead for the Mini-Millers and we can go into the next few fixtures with some real confidence. When the U7’s play as a team, they are simply unstoppable!

💛🖤⚽️
