MATCH REPORT NMJU10’s 22nd November NMJ U10s vs Whaley Bridge Blue

Today the U10’s were up against Whaley Bridge Blue for our local derby at Stockport Academy.

The Millers started strongly, with the midfield trio of Teddy, Charlie J and Stanley taking early control of the game. Stanley came close within minutes, rattling the crossbar with a brilliant effort.

The pressure continued, and it was Stanley who eventually broke the deadlock with a tidy strike from the left. The Millers kept a high line throughout the first half, allowing the defenders to push forward and try their luck with a few long-range attempts.

Into the second half, the U10s really hit their stride, responding well after a slight formation change from Whaley Bridge. Teddy, Rhys and Dylan all got themselves on the scoresheet, with Stanley adding a few more to round off an excellent team performance.

A big thank you goes to Charlie T, who kindly volunteered to come off when Whaley Bridge lost a player in the final minutes.

Overall, it was a fantastic display from the Millers—full of energy, sharp passing and confident attacking football.

Player of the Match: Stanley – the catalyst for a superb team performance that seems to be getting better each week.

Youth football is all about learning & improving. The result doesn't matter they say, and this is completely true. Sometimes though, it doesn't feel like that...... particularly in the heat of battle!
