MATCH REPORT NMJU7 22nd April 2023
Lunchtime kick off for our friendly today against Wythenshawe Celtic.
We had played Celtic earlier this year and knew we would be in for a tough match against a fast well organised team.
Jackson stepped up for goal keeping duties today and did very well completing the full game and making some good saves.
We made some changes in the first half and with the introduction of Teddy, and shortly after Tobias, we started to find a rhythm and it wasn’t long before Teddy, Stanley and Rhys all got 1 each before the half ended.
More changes in the 2nd half were forced as this was soon becoming a tough game with both teams not backing down, and a few injuries creeping in.
Very much like the first half, Celtic started strong. A combo of Charlie, Tobias and Rhys ensured their chances were limited.
A great effort from everyone this half with everyone giving 100% to keep us in the game. Soon, Stanley managed a 2nd and Paige taking every opportunity, keeping their defence under pressure.
Player of the match went to Teddy, as nominated by his teammates. Teddy was a constant threat today, and didn’t mind getting stuck in when needed. Well done Teddy !
A superb effort all round today !
