Match report NMJFC U11s - 28/01/23
New Mills U11 v Richmond Maroon U11
The Millers started this knockout cup game slowly with the Richmond wingers both very quick off the mark causing havoc in the New Mills back line.
Indi, Dan F and Mayson then took control and started to win the duals and pass out with more control.
Bobby, Darragh and Bertie all seeing more of the ball and Ryan winning possession for the team with Dan W in the centre of the pitch.
Goals in the first half were scored by Bobby with two free kicks and Darragh also with a free kick.
At half time Alex, Hazza and Fred joined the action and didn’t disappoint as Freddie offered a threat down the right and won all his duals when defending.
Hazza with an all action display in midfield helping start attacks and win the ball back for the team.
Alex offered energy both in winning the ball back and then playing with calm composure and assured wing play. One such surge forward resulting in a left footed goal for Bertie who continues his outstanding goal scoring record for the season so far.
Dan W held the ball up in attack and linked the play superbly and Cole was focused all game and made a Fantastic one handed save to keep out a superb long range Richmond effort at goal.
Player of the match was Cole who it appears thinks he is Emi Martinez 🤣
A really enjoyable watch of a team that continues to play good football and continues to improve as a group 👏👏👏
Up the Mini Millers 💛🖤
