Match Report New Mills u11 Vs Reddish NE Whites 23/3/24

It was a very windy afternoon today at Wythenshawe, and it proved to be a test for both teams.

New Mills started the game slowly and soon found themselves on the back foot with Reddish using the wind behind them to there advantage.

The ever-present Oli C was busy in the New Mills goal and made a host of fine saves to keep the Millers in the game, whilst the team struggled to string there passes together.

At half-time the team were told the next goal was important and boy did they react.

Straight from kick off they were quickly creating chance after chance with some slick build up play.

The midfield of Sam, Bobby, Harry, Oli F and Tyler played higher up the pitch and made it harder for their opponent to play out which they did with ease in the first half.

In defence, Brodie, Eddie, Leyton and Leighton worked there socks off and broke up any attacks Reddish could create.

The attackers, Jimmy and Remo were a constant threat with their pace upfront.

It was definitely a game of two halves and the Millers should be proud of the second half performance and there 'never say die' attitude to get something from the game.

Today's POTM was a difficult choice with so many impressive performances but today it goes to Leighton P. Leighton was solid at the back, and was calm on the ball, keep up the good work 💪
