So thankfully the weather was a lot friendlier this week then last and the lads didnt have to huddle under an umbrella on the sidelines. Given the Size of each squad it was agreed between the coaches that we would play 6 vs 6 this week.
Whilst Buxton got off to a great start, Ollie showed that he was just as good at keeping the ball out of the net as he is putting it in, multiple great saves from our no1 for the half.
Alfred and Tobias showed great determination getting up and down the pitch, breaking up play and trying to release our attackers, and Henry as ever giving those John Terry vibes, knowing what the attacker is about to do before he does.
Our goal came through an evolution in Sebs game which is great to see. Not only can he beat anyone with his quick feet, he's getting better and better at knowing when to release the pass.
So up the wing he dribbled, beating one, then playing a beautiful through ball to Joseph. After a couple of misses last week, I'm sure we were all hoping he would deliver the goods this time around, which he did, calmly slotting it past the keeper.
Onto the second half, and the energy Charlie and Angus had been showing on the bench was released once more onto the pitch. Angus winning the ball multiple times in the middle, and Charlie regularly showing a burst of speed to start a counter attack.
Seb was now in goal and followed Ollies lead, making some great saves. Louie like Kante before him and Declan Rice today, covered every part of the pitch.
Joseph had one final chance to score a second, bursting past their last defender with half the pitch to go, but unfortunately couldn't manage to find the back of the net this time.
Really great effort from every one of them once again, especially Alfred who won our player of the week. After four games now, trends start to emerge, and the effort and commitment every single player shows for every second of all the games we've played is just incredible, long may it continue! On to the next game!
