Match Report NMJFC U10 Girls vs Bollington United U10s Nancy Yellow Girls 29/03/2025

It was an exciting game this week, with our girls putting in a strong performance from start to finish. Right from the whistle, the team showed great determination and energy, dominating much of the first half with confident play and well-coordinated movement.

Millie started in goal and put in a solid shift, showing bravery in collecting the ball under pressure and making some crucial saves. She distributed the ball quickly and efficiently, keeping the pace high and allowing our girls to transition smoothly into attack. Having asking to go in net for a couple of weeks now, it's clear that her confidence is growing—a great sign for the team.

In defence, Seren and Emily were rock-solid. Seren wasted no time in getting stuck in, making important blocks and driving the ball forward. Her runs up the middle added a dynamic edge to our attack, linking up well with Poppy on the left.

Emily demonstrated great game awareness, knowing exactly when to hold her position and when to push forward. Her beautiful passes down the right wing to Ava opened up attacking opportunities, and her confidence on the ball continues to grow - even taking shots on target.

Poppy and Ava worked tirelessly on the wings. Poppy showed more confidence on the ball, tracking back when necessary to protect the keeper while also playing smart passes into our striker. Ava was solid on the right, displaying excellent awareness and reading the game well. Despite taking a tough tackle, she bounced back quickly, continuing to push forward.

Jessica controlled the midfield with some strong running, pushing the ball forward and linking up well with Ava in a neat one-two that resulted in a shot on goal.

Annabella led the line as striker this week, pressing the opposition defence relentlessly and giving them no time to settle. She took a few shots herself but also dropped into midfield to support her teammates, showing great versatility and teamwork.

As the game progressed, it was soon Ebony’s turn, making an immediate impact. She played with strength, moving the ball wide, taking a shot on goal, and putting in a solid defensive shift when needed.

Paige was introduced into midfield and ran tirelessly, battling for possession and putting herself about. She linked up well with Ebony and Seren, helping to drive the team forward and create scoring opportunities. It was a dominant first half from our girls, who showed great energy and control.

For the second half, Ava took over in goal and put in a solid performance, making some key saves and stepping off her line when needed. She passed the ball well and kept things simple, ensuring smooth transitions out from the back. Ebony switched to defence and continued her impressive play, consistently driving the ball forward. Annabella was strong at the back, making last-ditch tackles to keep the opposition at bay.

There were some excellent individual moments in today's game. Seren made a fantastic run from the halfway line, cutting diagonally to the right before narrowly missing the target. Emily also showed her confidence, carrying the ball forward from defence and initiating attacks. Paige worked tirelessly up and down the pitch, always eager to win the ball and push forward. Poppy continued to track back effectively while also driving forward with intent.

Jessica, playing up top, managed a shot on target that was just inches wide.

Overall, it was a fantastic team performance, with every player making a valuable contribution. The team showed resilience, determination, and a real hunger to compete. Player of the Week was awarded to Paige for the second week in a row. Her relentless running, commitment to every challenge, and determination -despite taking a ball to the stomach - were remarkable. A truly outstanding performance from her today. Well done!

With Mother's Day in the air, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing mums out there. Week in and week out, rain or shine, you are always there for our girls, offering unwavering support and encouragement. You are truly an inspiration! Enjoy your special day, and thank you for everything you do for our team.
