Match Report NMJFC U11 girls vs Marple - 17/02/24

The girls looked to keep up their recent run of top performances against a good Marple side.

Early on Marple were the better side and were dangerous going forward.

Slowly as the half drew on the Millers improved and but for the crossbar and some saves by the excellent Marple keeper they could have got a 2 or 3 goals.

Second half and the girls continued to go close and you thought it was going to be one of those days where the ball won’t go in. Eventually the girls did score, and what a goal! A great long range effort from Elsie ⚽️ gave the keeper no chance.

What was encouraging today was the communication between the players. This was epitomised by Erin and Florence at the back who worked together well as a pair and were the standout players in the game.

Florence 🏆 was awarded with the player of the match trophy as she didn’t put a foot wrong all game, winning lots of tackles and passing the ball well into midfield.
