Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs Richmond Rovers U11 Tigresses 07/02/2026

From the first whistle, our girls showed determination and togetherness.

Annabella started in goal. Alert and brave off her line, she read the game well, stepping out to intercept danger before it could fully develop.

Her willingness to come forward gave the defence reassurance and allowed the team to hold a strong shape higher up the pitch.

On the right side of defence, Jessica was fearless. She put herself about all game, never shying away from a challenge and constantly getting in the opposition’s way. Her tenacity disrupted attacks early and set the tone for the team’s defensive resilience.

On the opposite side, Poppy D delivered a powerful performance. Strong in the tackle and calm under pressure, she made several last-ditch challenges that halted dangerous moments. When she won the ball, she didn’t just clear it aimlessly – she looked to push it forward, turning defence into attack with purpose.

Further up on the left, Florence brought energy and creativity. She had a lovely habit of scooping the ball up and keeping it under control, linking play with intelligent passes and making well-timed runs into space. Even when she was knocked down, she showed real grit, getting straight back up and back into the action. In the middle, Paige was outstanding. Her footwork, clearly sharpened on the training ground, translated beautifully into match conditions. Strong on the ball, she wasn’t afraid to punch passes through tight spaces, and when the chance came, she tested the keeper with accurate shots on target.

On the right wing, Ava was relentless. Her running stretched the opposition throughout, and her dribbling ability allowed her to glide past defenders. She pushed the ball out of her feet with confidence and drove forward at pace, repeatedly breaking lines and creating opportunities.

Up front, Stevie worked tirelessly, holding the ball up cleverly and bringing teammates into play with smart passes, giving the side a focal point in attack.

The first goal was a perfect example of teamwork and fluid football. It began with Jessica, who moved the ball across to Poppy D. Poppy then found Ava, who delivered a superb diagonal pass to Florence. Florence laid it off into Paige’s path, and without hesitation Paige struck a beautiful shot. It was a goal built on vision, trust, and precision – a real team effort finished with quality.

Millie made an important impact after coming on, showing great awareness to track back when needed and support defensively. She also carried the ball forward with confidence, adding fresh energy and drive at crucial moments.

In the second half, the defensive trio remained solid and composed, working brilliantly together and holding their own against increasing pressure.

Ava continued her tireless work, tracking back to defend before bursting forward again with clever side runs. Florence kept pushing up the pitch and tested the keeper with a determined shot on goal.

Paige also, eager to please, kept the pressure on.

Stevie also came close, striking towards goal and unlucky not to find the net.

The Player of the Week award deservedly went to Paige. Her stunning opening goal set the standard, but it was her overall attitude that truly stood out. She listens carefully to her coaches, works hard to put training into practice, and always strives to give her best for the team. Her footwork was excellent throughout, and her strength on the ball made a real difference. In the second half, she went down clearly hurt, yet showed incredible determination to get back up and continue playing. That resilience, combined with her talent, marks her out as a brilliant player with a fantastic mentality. Well done Paige! And well done girls!
