Match report NMJFC U11 girls vs Tytherington - 30/09/23
What a great game to watch this morning; two evenly matched teams a close match and lots of entertainment.
New Mills were missing both Lily and Holly this morning and with Millie having an injured wrist it meant that other players had to to go in goal. Elsie, Erin and Florence all stepped up and went in goal and each one did a brilliant job.
Following a captains team talk from Emily the girls started the game well. Some early pressure resulted in the ball falling to Erin ⚽️ who scored her first goal for the team.
All over the pitch the Millers played well. Florence and Isla were super as usual at the back. In midfield Tallulah Millie Erin and Emily all worked hard and passed the ball well. Up front Brooke battled hard against the physical defenders.
The next goal from New Mills was a fabulous move. Isla won the ball and passed forward to Emily, who then played a great ball in Brooke ⚽️ who then finished well into the bottom corner.
A few changes at half time and the second half was even more entertaining than the first. On another day Elsie and Brooke could each have scored two or three goals but the ball just didn’t want to go in. Tytherington also had a couple of chances and some good defending/goalkeeping helped to keep the match close.
Player of the match today went to Florence 🏆. A great first half in defence followed by some good goalkeeping towards the end of the second half.
