Another 9am kick off meant another early goal conceded (clearly the girls don’t do early games😂). Despite the bad start the girls put in a great performance against top of the league Kingsway
First half was was generally all New Mills but we just couldn’t score. Emily, Esmee, & Brooke all came close and we thought it was one of those games.
Last minute of the half and we get a free kick, from distance Brooke steps up and smashes it top corner. What a goal ! Check out the video !
Second half and we concede another early goal but the girls kept playing well and our next goal was excellent. Great ball from Brooke to Lily who cut inside and found the corner of the net.
Despite being the better team Kingsway scored again. Were we going to lose a game we deserved to win? No, the girls kept going and Lily found another equaliser.
10 minutes to goal the Millers took the lead. Good play from Florence resulted in Lily getting her third and our fourth. A fifth goal came late on when Emily found the bottom corner
Final score Kingsway 3-5 New Mills
Great team performance today. Player of the match contenders were Isla for a good game in midfield and Lily for another hattrick. The trophy though went to Brooke for a top goal, great assist and brilliant all round performance.
