Under 11 ‘brain mat’ Sponsored Boys Stockport Metro Cup v. Inter Cheadle FC West

Early kick off, wet morning, slippery pitch who cares, these boys just want to play football. There was a frantic start from two passionate teams today. Every player wanted the ball, both team produced end to end attacks.

It was 10 minutes into the game before the play settled and New Mills started to have periods of sustained possession.

Eddie, Brodie, Tyler and Bobby played some lovely forward passes for our midfielders and attackers to put pressure on our opponents goal.

Remo had some lovely chances, hitting the post twice, Harry P shooting just over, Oli F, Sam and Jimmy unlucky with attempts on goal, I was thinking it’s not going happen for the boys this morning, but then Leighton controlled the ball beautifully in the middle of the pitch before unleashing a powerful shot beating the keeper from midfield.

The second half started with plenty more attacks from both teams. Oli C as usual was fantastic in goal, producing some great saves. Bobby was amazing in the second half, defending when needed, pushing forward helping out the midfielders and forwards when attacking.

Again New Mills had several chances to add to there goal tally in the second half, heading just over and hitting the crossbar.

The ‘brain mat’ sponsored man of the match goes to Bobby.
