Match Report NMJFC U11s V Buxton Young Bucks u11s- 17/02/24

The Millers were missing a couple of players today through illness and the team knew it was going to be a tough ask to get something with one sub, but boy were they up for the challenge.

New Mills started quickest and soon tested the Bucks keeper with some lovely build up play.

The midfield players Bobby, Harry P, Harry F, Jimmy and Sam were linking up well creating chance after chance.

Remo was a constant threat with his pace up top, but for all their pressure it was Buxton who found themselves ahead against the run of play.

However, this team never gives up and continues to impress with their battling qualities, and defenders Leighton, Leyton and Brodie soon started to breakup any attacks the opposition could create.

The ever-present keeper Oli C produced a couple of important saves and the Millers found themselves back in the game.

The second half was more end to end with both teams creating a host of chances, with the pick goals being a free kick scored by Harry P.

Great performance from everyone today who gave everything, well done all.

The 'brain mat' POTM today goes to Remo who was a constant threat on the counter attack with his pace and clinical finishing, well done 👏
