To say the boys were on fire this week would be an understatement….. they started fast to dominate the first 10 minutes of the game and were rewarded with a well taken goal by Max on his debut for the team.
The Millers continued to dominate the game and it wasn’t long before they added to their goal count, this time Jimmy finishing from close range.
With the pressure on their opponents the lads kept pushing forward and didn’t want to give their opponents any chances to get back into the game.
The next goal came from a penalty by Harry P. Remo added a third just before half time to give the Millers a 4-0 lead at half time.
GMF started the second half fast trying to get themselves back into the game, but Oli C and defensive pairings of Joseph, Leighton, Brodie and Eddie were in no mood to give away a goal today.
Mixing up the kick outs and playing out from the back set up several attacking opportunities to wingers Oli F, Jimmy, Remo and Tyler on the wings who were constantly running the wings to help the defence and work with midfielders Max, Harry P and Bobby pushing forward creating opportunities for strikers Harry F and Lucas to keep the opposition pinned in their own half. Remo ran clear midway through the second half to score his second of the game with a well finished shot.
Focus then turned to keeping a clean sheet and keeping the ball to control possession for the final minutes of the game. This was a very impressive performance from the team, who looked back to their usual selves after a difficult couple of weeks since Christmas.
Anyone on the pitch could have been rewarded player of the man but some amazing saves and defending the players of the match was rewarded to Oli C and Joseph. Well done boys.
