Match Report NMJFC U12 girls - 07/10/23

Match Report NMJFC U12 girls - 07/10/23 Vs Queensgate

Another brilliant game of football today and a great display of proper teamwork.  The way these girls have gelled already is fantastic.

Absolutely loving the communication throughout the ranks & it’s definitely having a positive effect on their game as a whole.

Love to watch this style of play when they’re fierce in the attack straight from the whistle.

Competitiveness seems to have set in as a whole and there seems to be an understanding of where each other are across the field.

A highlight of this for me today came in the second half with Jaz’s confidence on the ball on left wing, ability to shield, hold off that player and hold up play and wait for Ellie to find vital space who then in turn seemed to instinctively know Nieve was there to receive in the middle.

It was a brief but beautiful little combination.

Just 5 minutes in was a well taken goal from Delilah, well worked for and well celebrated from both the team & supporters, so nice to hear that big cheer.  Determination is your middle name.

4 minutes later Jaz worked the defenders, looked up and calmly slotted the ball home. Scarlett our Captain for today, good instructions, work ethic, getting vital crosses into the box & great supporting play.  Nice to see you both warming up the long balls pre-match together, it shows in your game and looking forward to working more on switching play.

Nieve slotted easily into a CDM position & with a high, defensive back line of Izzy, Mia & Lilly this gave her chance to stay up & with a beautiful first touch and turn also found the back of the net. Lovely goal.

When Queensgate did manage some through balls and their fast wingers broke away Taylor was off her line and covering the ball with her body to keep a clean sheet.  Fearless.

Georgie also unlucky to not quite squeeze past the Queensgate defenders & later in the game getting across players and forcing them out wide.

A calmness on the ball from Lily who again, got the ball out from her feet, kept it in play and back up the pitch, well done.

A few minutes into the second half and Ellie hit a powerful shot & also found the back of the net, super tough on herself every week so that goal was a real “get in” feel good moment. Player of the Match for us today was Ellie – your formidable midfield grit throughout the whole game was superb! Well done.
