Another post match photo that is one for the album, supporting each other, real team work, so nice to see.

A good away game against the Blues this morning starting in 3,3,2 & again using players up front that were somewhat out of their comfort zone but they still set out to push themselves.

It was nice to see them hungry to get the ball in the back of the net.

The first of our goals coming from our newest player on right wing, Isla, making her tally three goals in three games & she covered some distance, didn't mind admitting how tired she was when we brought her off for a rest, Isla is keen to learn, has a great attitude & is a joy to be around.

Bluestar were quick on the counter and tested our keeper throughout who made incredible decisions during the whole game & openly owned the one mistake too, a great trait to have, it was so good to see Taylor's confidence today, our little Onana who has us holding our breath, was out of her goal like a whippet off the blocks which kept the Blues from getting anywhere near.

Again, great decisions through our midfield, Del especially making brilliant passing out wide, Grace made a fantastic ball through, who also smashed her challenge & we both had a knowing smile about it too, resilience Grace added to the ability to squash the frustration, well done it's a huge lesson.

In training we've been working on getting in front of players and using their arms and physicality to beat their opponents and Alissa showed us this today, you were stronger and faster and even had a pop at goal with your left, keep going it'll come.

Izzy our Captain for today who commandeers from her central defensive position, she covers so well when Mia & Lily are in the thick of the 1v1s and had ticked off her individual challenge within the first half an hour.  Being first to the ball, intercepting, getting up for the ball, great first touch throughout too. Awesome stuff.

Into half time and lots to discuss with great feedback from the girls themselves on how the second half will get played, ownership of their game being so important.

Personally enjoyed this game so much & was that busy watching individual play that I know Bluestar got themselves a goal but I couldn't tell you when or how. Ce la Vie.

Mia has been working hard in training & seems to favour the second half, good closing down play, she loved the corner work we did on Tuesday, displayed this with a perfect ball into the box for our power house Annie to get on the end of, giving us space to breath a little.

We did ask them for more in the half time chat and they all did that as a whole.  Great speed & a will not to be beaten or let players travel with the ball, Nieve made some excellent decisions, I like the creativity and the overhead kicks back into the box, we know you'd have liked to find the back of the net yourself but setting up others and that style of play today is vital and you fought throughout with this, well done. Our right back Lily, a difficult first half with that player but the quality of throw-ins plus communication second half was outstanding.

Working well for us at the moment with Del being the opposition's nightmare in more of a defensive midfield role and Annie up front. We cheered Annie on who broke through the two defenders with the ball at her feet leaving them chasing to calmly get the Millers side another, no doubt about that one was there.

As tired as Del was through the first half we did ask for more , we also discussed how mature a decision is to say you're tired for the good of the team, rested she went back out with a point to prove, pushed through the middle and boy she upped the gears in the second half and also found the back of the net. Well done.

Del also decided our POTM today and said not only for her goal keeping but for her footballing too - we all agreed. Taylor, thoroughly deserved.  We know you can cover the ball with your body, we know how quick your reactions are but to see you come way out of your area to clear the ball away with confidence and smiling was today's icing on the cake. Much better decisions, you picked out your wide players from goal kicks superbly, little cracker, well done.

Happy with this performance today to secure a 4-1 win. 👏
