Match Report NMJFC U13s girls v Cheadle & Gatley - 06/12/25

This was a fantastic performance from the girls, without doubt their best of the season. Cheadle had beaten us earlier in the season and are a really good team with an exceptional striker, however the girls dominated for start to finish to progress to the next round of the cup.

No Millie, so Ella stepped up to play in goal and she was superb. Ella was great off her line and made some good saves.

Defence today were really solid. Neve was amazing as a sweeper and Evie was strong at left back. On the right hand side of defence Bella was brilliant on the ball and started many attacks.

Lucie was tasked with marking Cheadle’s forward and she hardly gave her a kick all game, top performance Lucie!

We had a few in midfield who had been ill in the past week but you’d never have guessed. Elsie Isla Emily Brooke and Esmee all worked really hard in defence and created lots going forward.

Up front, Lily-Ella was unplayable at times and opened the scoring within the first minute. By half time she had bagged herself yet another hattrick. Lily is so quick and is calm in front of goal.

Second half and the goal of the game; great through ball to Lily who broke clear and played a lovely ball for Esmee to score at the back post.

Our final goal was scored by Elsie who again was impressive in attacking situations.

A late consolation from Cheadle didn’t detract from a brilliant performance.

Final score Cheadle 1 New Mills 5

Anyone could have won the player of the match trophy today but the coaches all picked Lucie who has grown into a really important player for us . Her defensive work today stood out.

Well done girls.
