Parts 1 & 2 of our Chapel Town Trilogy.
Last week we had the full squad for our toughest game of the season. All of our encounters with Chapel Town are great but it has to be said, Chapel Blues are an exceptional team and we knew we needed to be on our ‘A game’ to compete. Thankfully, we were and our Mini-Millers didn’t disappoint. Reuben Schmeichel is in such good form and that is just what we needed against such strong opposition. Ned is another who is flourishing right now. Solid as rock, Ned is now adding more to his game. Passing, dribbling & ‘Getting Rid of it’ are all qualities needed to be a good defender but nobody can teach you how to be courageous 🦁 Ned has this in abundance and saved a certain goal by throwing his head in the direction of the ball. It took some cleaning up but our Player of the Match was an easy decision……
The Warrior Ned 🏆
Today was Part 2 – Chapel Town Colts were the opposition.
They look very much like The Blues & The Yellows and this meant we were in for another good match. Once again, our Mini-Millers didn’t let us down.
Explosive, Expansive, Incredible 💥 Today was our day!
Every single one of them turned up and gave 100%. The passing was superb and at times, us coaches just took a step back from the sideline and appreciated the hard work that has gone into our training sessions. We have been working on playing it out from the back, then up-the-line to the wide players and squaring it for a shot. Time after time, they performed this and God only knows how it didn’t go in?!
Then the penny dropped and Teddy read it perfectly. Finley was on another planet this morning. By far the best performance of any 8 year old I have ever seen . . . . . . He was involving every member of the team in his build up play and then setting up the chances to score. Teddy got on the end of it and The Millers were buzzing. A seasonal gift from Finn who wasn’t finished there. He then set up Ryan who deserved a goal for all his hard graft. Our little Father Christmas was still handing out gifts and on another day every player could have been on the score-sheet. Finn also bagged himself half a dozen of the greatest goals! This boy is a so good to watch and an absolute pleasure to coach.
POTM went to Finley 🏆 Fantastic in every aspect of the game!
