We were up against another team from Wythenshawe Town again this week, the Pumas for their 9:50 kick off at Benchill community centre.
We were missing Rhys today so the boys agreed to try a few different positions to help cover in his absence. Hope you’re feeling better soon Rhys !
We started with James in goal, Teddy and Charlie T in defence. Stanley, Charlie J and Jackson in midfield, with Dylan having his first go at striker.
The boys started well with some excellent passing and Stanley making some good runs on the left, and playing balls into the middle.
After a few counter attacks in the opposite direction, which Teddy, Charlie T and James took care of, Stanley opened the scoring for New Mills.
A few minutes later Dylan found the net for his first goal, finishing off a lovely bit of passing which involved most of the players on the pitch.
The boys continued the attacks and both Jackson and Charlie J unlucky not to score.
Half way came and Dylan took to goal, with James going into defence and Teddy and Charlie T moving up. Pavac defended with James and continues to improve week on week.
The 2nd half was tough and the Pumas were getting much more physical as we controlled the game.
An absolutely beauty of a goal from Stanley gaining applaud from everyone.
A great team effort today with some great passing and everyone giving it their all and not giving up.
Player of the match was a split today, we went with Dylan for his aggressive attacking, first goal and playing well as goalkeeper.
And Stanley, who was awesome. Constantly making things happen for us, and 2 wonderful goals.
