Cheadle & Gatley V's NMJFC
What a day for football, the sun was shining, some of the team even cut their holidays short for the match, and thankfully all the lads were up for it against a much improved Cheadle and Gatley team.
The game got underway and NMJFC set about putting their mark on the game with some great work from the wingers Josh and Ollie M and Lewis commanding the midfield.
With Dillan in goal and a strong defence pairing of Joel & George, Cheadle were limited to long range chances.
Some great work from Ollie M creating an opportunity for NMJFC and Josh didn't waste his time in smashing 💥 the ball into the bottom corner.
Cary was running the oppositions defence left, right and centre and he got a well deserved goal himself not giving Cheadle and Gatley a second, he won the ball and placed it passed the Gk ⚽️
Half time and a very well deserved drinks break.
The second half got underway and after Cheadle and Gatley had a strong 5-10 mins working the ball NMJFC moved through the gears and everyone in attendance witnessed a truly special goal from Joel. He must have beaten 3 players, then a drag back here, Cruyff turn there he found himself passed another 2 players leaving him 1 on 1 wth the gk and Joel slotted the ball into the goal. Truly was an amazing solo goal 👏
The introduction of Toby helped link some play together and Ollie M got a deserved goal as he never stopped all afternoon.
The David Wood Domestic Appliances man of the match went to Lewis who bossed the game from centre midfield.
