Match report NMJFC Under 11s - 02/04/23
New Mills Juniors u11 last ever game at Glossopdale School in the High Peak Junior Football league was played in glorious sunshine.
A competitive match with Buxton was what ensued with both teams going all out playing fast attacking football.
Alex H took the gloves and made several excellent saves in the first half. The defence battled hard against the lively Buxton attack with Tommy, Daniel and Indi working hard to keep the Buxton attack out.
Gregory, Bobby, Mayson and Bertie worked hard in midfield to win back possession and start counter attacks where they could.
Dan W was working the Buxton back line and keeping them on their toes throughout the game. Lincoln and Stan offered more energy to the attack when they came on as the sun was energy sapping for the players throughout.
An excellent goal was scored by Dan W after superb wing play from Mayson.
The team have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the High Peak league and would like to thank all the High Peak League volunteers that make this such an enjoyable place to play football.
Player of the match was Alex H who was excellent in goal and distributed the ball well to his teammates.
The team will move back onto grass next season with muddy knees and dirty kits for parents to wash being the order of the day.😊
The squad look forward to cup finals day at Buxton FC in the weeks ahead.
