Match report NMJFC Under 12s girls - 22/04/23

Vs Hazel Grove

A huge part of what we try and instil in the team lately is the ability to push down the frustration, dig deep & push on. The girls showed a fantastic attitude throughout the whole match today.

Discussed the importance of each roll and coaches’ expectations beforehand & each of them stepped up.

Delilah in goal for the first half & did some great saves, good input at half time talk too.

Tasked our two wingers with more responsibility today and they did not disappoint, Jaz showing great form & strength, determination & closing down players on the left, Nayia over on the right with pace & some whipped in crosses, lovely partnership with Freya L too.

Thought both wingers might have got on the score sheet today with the effort they put in.

Played Brooke & Ava centrally today and both battled throughout.

The short, accurate passing in tight areas between Ava & Ellie is a joy to watch, again Ellie unlucky not to score but love to see her vision, intercepting passes and is fearless.

There’s a goal on the end of those boots Ellie, keep doing what you’re doing.

Brooke had fire in her belly & did exactly what was asked of her in both halves, dropping back and getting the ball through midfield, helping defenders when needed with great communication & movement, one of your best games to date!

Slotted in Freya B up front again who also was unfortunate to not score, busy goal mouth kept her shots at bay.

Our little defending tag team at the back of Scarlett & our Captain Jay did a sterling job, covering, applying pressure, manipulating the opposition.

Jay, good Captain skills, support for your team mates for picking up players, speed & utilising space!

Well done Freya B for that digging deep mentality & getting a half done between the sticks, you have some goal kick on you!

Izzy in defence during the second half is mastering the art of forcing out players wide, some perfectly timed through balls too, keep it up, it’s good to see.

And last but not least, Georgie, only her 2nd game for us and tasked with being up front, you got stuck in with determination, well done!

A well deserved POTM today was our Number 9 Brooke.

You took on board the coaching points, made a difference to the game in many ways & fought throughout. Well done.

Personally, I really enjoyed this game, they played with smiles on their faces and gave it their all. Well done 👏🏻
