The U7 Yellows were at Glossopdale this morning for the start of the High Peak Junior Football League and straight into a tough first game against CHCS U7 Lions.
The heavy showers had stopped just in time for kick-off and the Yellows couldn’t wait to get out of the blocks. It was a high energy first half with both teams having a good number of chances, with the Yellows goalkeeper Toby producing some fine saves. The game settled down a bit more in the second half, with the Yellows putting some good passing moves together and they were rewarded with a fantastic goal from Charlie ⚽️
This spurred the team on and they could have had scored a few more after that goal!
An amazing start to the league season from the Yellows - every single one of them putting in 100% and coming off the pitch with huge smiles and laughter - which is what it’s all about!
Special mention to our captain today, James, who put in some fantastic tackles and showed loads of confidence on the ball.
Roll on next week!
