The Falcons were fired up for their game against CHCS U8 Lions at Glossopdale this morning.

But before the football started we joined the other NMJU8 teams and opponents for a minutes silence on Remembrance Sunday. Every single player, coach and spectator stood together in unity which was great to see.

Back to the pitch and the Falcons couldn’t wait to get started. The priority today was simple - consistency and concentration for the full game. As soon as the game started, the opposition ran straight through our defence to score. Shell shocked, the team showed unbelievable focus to put it behind them and straight from kick-off scored an equaliser. The pace didn’t ease off - because the same thing happened again, with 4 goals inside the first 5 minutes! The rest of the first half was non stop end to end football - fantastic for the spectators to watch.

For the first time this season, no substitutions were made in the first half. So a couple of changes were made at half-time to bring fresh legs onto the pitch after such an energetic start to the game. The changes paid dividends and the fast pace of the game continued, with Falcons more than matching their opponents, stringing some nice passes together and create some great chances.

At the final whistle, the Falcons were absolutely thrilled with their performance today. Easily their best performance of the season and lays down a marker for the level they know they can play at. Fantastic goals today from hat-trick hero Alfie ⚽️⚽️⚽️ and Poppy ⚽️ Also a special mention to today’s captain Oscar. Every week Oscar makes first class saves - and today was no exception. What stood out today was his distribution. His speed, quality and decision making today was excellent and shows the brilliant progress he continues to make. Well done Falcons - super proud of you all today. You were amazing!
