Match report NMJFC Under 8s Wasps - 25/09/22
The first half was entertaining and even, with everyone left wondering if anyone could break the deadlock. James’ spin with the ball to pass an opponent down the line found the supporters in good voice. Dylan curled a great shot just outside the top right corner, and at the other end made many goal-saving tackles. Frankie C, making his league debut, really got stuck into the game.
Just like last week, the teamwork shown by the Wasps was really evident. This was epitomised by Jacob, who played some particularly unselfish passes. Sam and Brooke were tenacious and calm on the ball, allowing them to repeatedly break forwards for the team.
The Chinley goalkeeper had a great game. James’ positional play created a number of chances early in the second half, but even his low driven shot across the goal squirmed just past the far post.
Then, for the second game running, Harry got the scoring started for the Wasps ⚽ followed by goals again for both Dylan ⚽ and Brooke ⚽!

The commitment was exceptional, and some very tired players left the field. Another week when a bag full of ‘NMJFC Player of the Match’ trophies could have been given out! After long deliberations, captain for the day Harry received the award 🏆 for his high energy throughout.
