New Mills Juniors Under 8’s put on an impressive display today, seamlessly putting into practice the skills learned in this week's training session. The focus this week was on passing in pairs, and that tactical approach was evident throughout the match.
The standout moment came when we scored the goal of the game. The build-up was textbook—three quick and decisive passes between players that sliced through the opposition's defence. Logan made a perfect delivery, and Elliott showed great composure to slot the ball home with a calm finish under pressure. It was a brilliant example of what we had been working on in training—quick, intelligent passing and clinical finishing.
Defensively, the team was solid, with everyone tracking back and working together to protect the goal. The effort from all players was fantastic, and it showed in both attack and defense.
Overall, it was a great team performance. Every player gave their all, and the goals came from fast, direct, and purposeful play—exactly what we focused on in training. That made all the difference in this hard-fought contest.
