Match report New Mills U11 Scorpions vs Futtmania - 09/11/25

What a morning!! A very different New Mills turned up this morning and the only silence we had was the 1 minute for Remembrance Sunday.

No Rocco K and No David today. We missed them and looking forward to having them back.

Let us tell you about the boys that did play.

Rocco T - We talk about the strength he has built playing with us. We had more of that today. He struggled to find a gap to get a chance to blast the ball through but he never gave up. His little spell in defense just emphasised the power he has developed this season. 👊🏻

Alfie - He had a little assignment today. Which is the opposite of how he usually plays. It was a touch drop because it wasn’t natural to him but he was so close to getting exactly what we expected to happen for him.

Dylan - Confidence changes everything and it certainly has with this young man. His footwork is incredible and he has the confidence to take the ball around people. Even his defensive work today was very confident and very impressive.

Leo - some days the mantle of captain can weigh a lot on this young man but he does an incredible job. Vocal and encouraging. He is learning that he is so much more than just speed. It’s a joy watching this development. If he can stay out of his own head he will lead his team to many more wins this season.

Frankie H - The bridge we didn’t know we were missing. Frankie almost brings the team together being that connection between the defenders and attackers. You can rely on him to be where he needs to be and to see things others don’t.

Callum - Mr composure can confuse you sometimes. You can’t tell whether he is focused or bored. But then he switches on and saves us from disaster time after time.

Will - The work rate and commitment that comes out of this lad is something to be proud of. He chases until the ball is out of play.  It’s clear Will, will give his all for the cause.

Oliver - The best thing about him is that first and foremost he is there to have fun. His joy is infectious and he must know that he plays better when he’s happier. A pleasure to watch.  Sprayed free kicks across the pitch and found a yellow jersey each time.

Finley - Where to start with this little fire cracker. He sweats passion. He bleeds commitment. He refuses to give up. There were too many incredible plays made to name them all. Everything that he does he does for a reason. Even taking a screamer to the face. (You can still see the mark on his face) 👊🏻

PoTM could have gone to anyone today. But, Finley was on a different level to anyone on pitch. Phenomenal.

Shout out to an incredible opponent that gave us a brilliant game to watch. Until next time…..
