Match Report NMJFC U11s - 17/10/26
New Mills were up against High Lane Athletico for the 2nd time this season and knew they would need to be at is from the off.
The Millers got off to a great start defending well and getting our opening goal coming from some excellent play. Stanley played a fantastic ball through to Dylan, who timed his run perfectly to arrive at the back post and finish brilliantly.
It was a tough game, with very little given away by either side. The boys showed some excellent link-up play, worked hard for each other and, most importantly, stayed calm and resilient when the pressure was on. It was great to see them continuing to trust their football and work together as a team.
Stanley’s moment finally came in the second half, with a well-deserved goal that was all about determination and refusing to give up. He kept going, kept working hard, and was rewarded for his efforts with a great moment for him and the team. ⚽
🏆 Player of the Match – Teddy
Teddy takes this week’s Player of the Match after a big improvement in his performance. He got stuck into his tackles, showed real commitment defensively and grew in confidence with his passing.
A really tough test for the boys, but plenty of positives to take away from a game that demanded hard work, teamwork and resilience from everyone.
Well done, boys! 👏⚽
