MATCH REPORT NMJFC U10s v Richmond Rovers Lazio U10s - 31st January 2026

The U10’s were back at Stockport Sports Village this weekend, taking on Richmond Rovers Lazio.

The boys were still without Dylan but welcomed back Charlie J and Charlie T, which was a big boost to the squad.

After a strong finish last weekend, we named an unchanged starting lineup: James in goal, Teddy and Pavak in defence, Stanley, Rhys and Jackson in midfield, with Alfie leading the line up front.

The boys started brightly and were straight on the front foot, with Stanley firing home the opening goal to give us an early lead. Richmond responded well, however, scoring twice to turn the game around. Teddy then produced a superb goal-line clearance to prevent a third and keep us in the contest.

A great piece of build-up play from the back followed, moving the ball through the midfield and up to Charlie J, now playing as striker, who finished well to level the game before half-time.

The second half saw Richmond start the brighter side, moving the ball well and really testing our defence. Credit to James in goal, who was called upon several times and made some excellent saves to keep us in the game.

It was a really intense match against a very strong opponent who pushed us all the way.

Player of the Match was deservedly awarded to Rhys, who never gave up and battled tirelessly in midfield from start to finish.
