Stockport Metro League 

U11 Boys v Wythenshawe FC - 10/02/24

The boys started brightly this morning, fast slick passing and running forward at pace.

Oli C bossed his area, keeping his defenders Eddie, Leyton, Brodie and Leighton in position and distributing the ball lovely to set up attacks from the back. 

Attacking players Harry P, Tyler, Sam, Bobby, Jimmy and Joseph controlled the midfield and burst forward spreading the play wide and causing lots of problems for their opponents. 

Their great play was rewarded with a lovely team goal, with Tyler running into the box to slot the ball into the net after an inch perfect cross. 

New Mills second came shortly after from the first of many free kicks rewarded to the Millers today. Harry P with a world class strike to the top corner. 

Unfortunately from then the game got more physical, and didn’t suit New Mills but nevertheless the boys continued to play football spreading the play and creating plenty of chances. 

Jimmy added a third for New Mills but it was surprisingly ruled offside. New Mills bravely soaked up a lot of pressure in the last few minutes and finished strongly. The coaches were very proud of the way they played and conducted themselves on the pitch today.

The ‘brainmat’ player of the match this week goes to Jimmy. Jimmy played great attacking football today, always battling hard to win possession. Well done Jimmy
