Under 11 ‘brain mat’ Sponsored Boys

Stockport Metro League

v. Reddish North End Whites

Another new venue at Stockport Academy, perfect weather conditions, all we needed was some nice football to watch… and our boys didn’t disappoint.

New Mills started strong, keeping possession, great passing and movement of the ball everything the coaches asked of the team was being produced on the pitch.

With some fine defending from Leyton, Brodie and Leighton it didn’t take long for New Mills to get on the scoreboard, Oli F calmly slotted the ball to the back of the net after a quick break from the defence.

From the restart New Mills continued to be strong, Oli C in goals kept our opponents guessing with a great mix of long and sort kick outs. Sam and Remo were excellent on the wings.

It didn’t take long for New Mills to score another goal, this time it was debutant Jimmy to run onto a pass beating the offside trap to score. Remo added a third again created from some great passing from Harry P, Tyler, Bobby who controlled the central midfield area.

Half time and our opponents were not going to lay down and roll over. They started the 2nd half strong and fast and got some goals of the own. This didn’t faze the Millers who continued to play their entertaining passing football. Both sides created several chances in the 2nd half which brought out some excellent saves from both keepers.

The ‘brain mat’ sponsored man of the match was Oli F for his great passing and team work today.
