Match report NMJFC U12s Girls - 05/11/22
Vs Stalybridge Celtic
Thank you to the supporters for adhering to the silent weekend FA initiative, I honesty thought the girls would be a bit louder as they are in training but they more than held their own and we’re all very proud of them.
An explosive start, within 30 seconds Freya L started as she obviously meant to go on and took no prisoners throughout the full 30 minutes, clocking up an incredible double hattrick.
One for Nayia who has shared it with Freya B as it was questionable as to whether it had gone over the line of the Stalybridge side, but a goal for the team none the less.
Some great use of space for our midfield players and making good use of the wings.
A goal for the opposition before the whistle but left us in a great spot to completely swap up the second half and give the girls the opportunity to play out of their usual positions, and maybe highlighted to them the challenges their team mates face.
With a decision to hand over that responsibility to them at half time they switched format, placed mid and up front players towards the back and pushed up their usual defenders so they could take some shots on goal and make more runs, all resulting in a well worked for and well celebrated goal from Nieve who had fantastic vision, communication, and her off the ball thinking secured her the Player of the match for us today, well done our Dora.
Not the most watchable second half we’ve had and somewhat out of sorts for some of the girls but ownership for them all as a team and still a fantastic result.
Just to top it off, our Captain Brooke’s nicely placed shot saw a comfortable finish.
Shout out to our 2 in between the sticks today Scarlett and Freya L for second half, who was unlucky to have a penalty to deal with, you both faced up to the task in hand and delivered, great attitudes, well done. 👏🏻👏🏻
