Match report NMJFC U12s girls - 22/10/22

NMJFC Vs Stockport Vikings

Back on the grass today for a clash between 2nd and 3rd places and a big shout out to our keepers of the day with Scarlett in the first half and Delilah in the second, both donning the gloves and swallowing the nerves to give 100% with smiles on their faces, well done from all the team & supporters alike!

The team appreciating our second coach for the day, Dave, who positively encouraged throughout the whole game and gave a confidence boost to those in goals, thank you from us all.

The girls are currently stepping up each week to take their turn in net, giving them an understanding of how difficult a job that is and a chance to see things from a different perspective, today they showed great teamwork helping each other and playing out from the back in what was an enjoyable game of football.

Good to see them utilising the space during the first half, creating opportunities with a passing game.  Helping to develop players by challenging them in different positions, Brooke, captain today, impressive in her defending role and played a beautiful through ball to the waiting feet of Freya B was a highlight of the game, Freya L playing left wing for a change with a well earnt goal off the outside of her foot was another.

Pushing our winger Jaz up front showed many moments of bravery and solid work, unfortunate to not have got past their keeper who came out to meet the ball, you showed tenacity, resilience & continued improvement in 1v1 / 1v2 situations, this did not go unnoticed!

Plenty of end to end and equalling goal tally action, a birthday goal for Nayia when the keeper fumbled in the goal mouth, nice to see you having a go in that tight situation.

Freya B keen to secure another hattrick today and showed why digging deep on the sidelines and making the most of the last 5 minutes in the second half gets results for the team, also great vision and unselfish on the ball when needed has earnt her Player of the Match from Dave today, well done.

A fair draw and just staying above the Stockport side. Pleasure to play them today.
