Match report NMJFC U12s girls - 29/10/22

Queensgate Vs NMJFC U12 Girls

Happy with today, nice to watch.

Some lovely 1-2 plays through the midfield and moving the ball forward.  Nayia standing in net first half with only 1 touch of the ball, we play a better game when we press hard and keep the pressure on.

The pairing of Ellie and Ava today was superb.  Both grafting it out through the whole game and creating a strong playing bond.

With determination throughout Ellie opened up the score with the assist from Freya B and had multiple shots on target.

Was a bit of a wakeup call going into half time only 1 up, good half time chat, good energy and keen to get back on 💪.

The New Mills side did not disappoint.  Freya L’s strength and pace left the Queensgate girls chasing throughout the second half and a lovely assist to Freya B’s number 2 shot, soon followed by a cheeky half way chip to clock up her tally.

Not done there, moving the ball with pace through the defenders secured a couple more for the team to be able swap things about and have a go at something different.

Shout out to Nieve who worked tirelessly all game chasing down the ball and was unfortunate to not score, not through want of trying, your ability to play in midfield, defence and up front positions makes our job on the sidelines easier and you do whatever is asked with a smile on your face and pure commitment.

Would like to mention the work ethic of Ava today who made some fantastic crosses into the box, keeping the ball in play, good corners and real hard work for the good of the team, also Jaz back on the wing who chased down every ball and found the feet of those team mates in better positions. On point passing Jazmin!

Tidy little run from Jay late in second half, taking the ball out wide round players with speed and tried hard to get that cross into the centre, we saw you and it was great!

Another for Freya L, keep the score comfortable but the Millers were not done with taking opportunities when they could.  Delilah in net for second half again and was unlucky the ball just skimmed past her gloves for a Queensgate goal but showed bravery diving for it, well done.

Bella having time out of her defensive position late in the game also unlucky to not have got through the scrum in the middle.  To top off the game, Freya L again seizing the opportunity to push it over the line. Smiles all round today.

Hard to pick player of the match today so both myself and Jo agreeing on two, Ava & Ellie. Well deserved. 👏🏻👏🏻
