Manchester Maccabi Tigers v New Mills u15s
New season new league new buzz around the squad.
First game of the season for the Millers in the east Manchester league having spent the rest of our years in the Stockport metro.
We were supposed to be away but got asked to reverse the fixture so we were at home on the old faithful Rec.
We had no idea what to expect with this new division so we’re raring to go. We’ve had a busy transfer window and we’re keen to see how the lads worked together with each other.
The game kicked started and both teams tried to get on the front foot and get a hold of the game. For 10 minutes it was very tight, the game being played with more physicality than we have been used to in the past. The Millers were knocking the ball around well at times and went ahead after 15 minutes when Finn slotted the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner.
From then on it seemed like a long way to half time as the away team seemed to take control of the game for what was left of the half.
The Millers dug in and defended well with Jack making some good saves to keep the Millers ahead. There were tackles flying in from both sides and I think both teams were glad to see the break.
The lads regrouped at half time and went out with a sting in there tails.
Jack D was a menace on the right wing constantly taking on the left back and getting into good positions. Maccabi were still threatening until one of there players was sin binned.
From then on Millers took full control of the game playing some lovely football and 1-2s and creating chances.
Further goals from Finn, George, Tyrell and Archie finished off a perfect afternoon for the Millers.
No game this weekend but next week we are at home in the Manchester cup against Wythenshawe.
Please come and show your support.
