Match report NMJFC U7'S V Chapel Town Blues - 24/9/23

An early start for The Miniature-Millers as we had the 8:45am KO at Glossopdale. We were up against a quality team in Chapel Town and from experience, the Blues have always been a strong team.... In all the age-groups!

Ned took the gloves once again and even though he wasn't too busy he concentrated throughout the first-half and kept a clean-sheet. At The back we changed it slightly from last week and had Max & Finn occupying a deeper, defensive role whilst Myles & Teddy put in the hard-yards on the wings.

It paid off instantly as the boys were trying to link-up and pass the ball around. It didn't always work, but everytime we recovered and started the move again. Patience is an incredible tool to have when you're an U7's team but these boys are learning fast and before you knew it the goals arrived. Finn crashed the ball home ⚽ and the nerves began to subside.... slightly.

Ryan was introduced and he is going to be a little star in this team. He has no fear and just runs at the opposition and was unlucky not to get on the score-sheet this week.

Aiden took the gloves in the second-half and made a couple of terrific saves with his feet to keep Chapel out. This young man is progressing incredibly and as coaches we are looking forward to getting him to his full potential.

Ned was now playing out and did a marvelous job protecting our goal & making some great clearances.

Teddy and Myles were digging deep and working back, but in attack they were running their socks off in the hope of getting their goal-tally underway. Max had also started creeping further & further up the pitch and it's great to see the desire from the whole team to want to be involved.

Finley grabbed the game by the scruff-of-the-neck and not only found the back of the net another couple of times ⚽⚽ but he never missed a tackle in defence and come the final whistle, every single one of them could hold their head up high knowing they had given 100%. An outstanding performance against a very good opposition.

The Mini-Millers are on fire 💥💥💥
